Situated just up from the Hove seafront, The Connaught is one of Brighton & Hove's best all-round pubs. We are part of the renowned Brakespear Brewery family and pride ourselves on our family-friendly atmosphere, delicious home-cooked food and great wine, cocktails and ale selections.
We are child-friendly every day until 7pm, please let us know if there are children in your party when booking in the restaurant.
Dogs are more than welcome in our bar area & garden but not in the restaurant, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
There are also some new rules that we need to put in place as we want to make sure we’re doing everything we can to get through this period and keep everyone safe so that we can go back to normal as soon as possible:
Alcohol can now only be served to customers alongside a substantial meal. This could be either one main course or two starters per person.
The purchase of any alcohol will not be allowed until an order for food has been put through.
Everyone will be allowed to stay for a maximum of two hours or until your meals are finished, whichever is the shortest.
Everyone at your table must be from the same household if seated inside. If seated outside your party may contain members from more than one household but still no more than six in total. Please note we are not taking any bookings for the garden tables or booths.
If you are drinking soft drinks/coffees etc, you do not need to purchase food as part of your order.
We will stop serving alcohol at 10pm. The venue will close by 11pm at the latest.
On Sundays we will take reservations for allocated two-hour sittings throughout the afternoon - you can book for either noon, 2.15pm or 4.30pm. You are welcome to come in without a booking at any time up until 6.30pm but we can’t guarantee a table will be free. Our Sunday night quiz will not be taking place until further notice.
Tier two rules
As everyone knows by now, Brighton & Hove is currently in a Tier 2 area for
Covid restrictions so we have outlined below the main things that will affect us until the situation changes.
First of all, some things haven’t changed and still need to be done as they were before the second lockdown:
Table service will be maintained - no one can order at the bar.
Masks must still be worn when entering or exiting the venue or when not sat at your table.
No more than six people can sit as one party and splitting larger parties over multiple tables will not be allowed. Any children or infants in the party count towards your maximum number in the party.
All under-18s must be out of the venue by 7pm.
We still require everyone to scan in on arrival for the NHS Test & Trace scheme.
Any pushchairs or buggies must be able to be folded down and stored under the table to ensure social distancing between tables is adhered to.
We are unable to allow bikes into the venue due to space restrictions, these must be chained up outside.
Dogs will still be allowed in the bar area and garden (not the restaurant) but must be kept on a short leash at all times. Please keep dogs off the furniture and not blocking any walk ways.
